As our Sr. Solutions Engineer, you’ll play a critical role by exposing our customers to the problem solving capabilities Red Van brings to the table. Using your deep expertise in the Salesforce ecosystem, you’ll be responsible for planning, building, and delivering demos to prospects and influential industry leaders that combine these Salesforce tools with Red Van’s unique Autobahn products for B2C & B2B commerce, email marketing, and order management. You will directly address questions and concerns from our prospects throughout the sales process, while working internally with cross-functional stakeholders to improve the market position of Red Van’s Autobahn products. While this role is naturally a technical one, demonstrated expertise in selling Salesforce products and development services, a passion for networking and relationship building, and a general extroverted personality are important to succeed. Your conversations with prospective clients will lay the foundation for our ongoing relationships, so you must be an ambassador for Red Van’s values and culture, embodying them in every interaction. This is a remote position (like all of Red Van), but a willingness to travel is expected.

Responsibilities – You will:
- Represent the mission, vision, and values of Red Van in all stages of your work.
- Lead sales discovery calls to gather information about a prospective client’s needs, challenges, and goals.
- Convey a deep understanding of the customer's architecture as it pertains to implementing and leveraging Salesforce and Red Van technologies.
- Use the discovered situation to define a problem set, an innovative solution set, and recommend practical next steps.
- Demonstrate a path to impact by building and delivering tailored demos of Salesforce products with Red Van’s Autobahn applications.
- Champion Red Van and the capabilities of our Services organization as best-in-class by showcasing our technical expertise and delivery accomplishments.
- Discover and navigate the decision making process and personas within prospective client organizations, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and influence the selection process in Red Van’s favor.
- Create high-level design documents that outline how a proposed solution meets a client’s needs.
- Review and assess project estimates, ensuring they are in line with proposed solutions.
- Present estimates and proposals to clients detailing how the project will meet their needs, while demonstrating a solid understanding of the client’s processes and objectives.
- Draft compelling proposals that effectively communicate the project scope, deliverables, and the value of our services.
- Conduct knowledge transfer and handoff sessions with our Services team to ensure a smooth transition from sales to project kickoff.
- Collaborate regularly with our Services team to ensure alignment with resource capabilities, resource availability, and client expectations.
- Continuously improve the operational toolkit of Red Van’s selling activities and dedicate effort to ongoing enhancement of Red Van’s business performance.
- Collaborate on cross-functional solution guides and playbooks, while building an operational knowledge base of problems and solutions.
Ideally you have:
- 2+ years in a sales engineering role selling Salesforce Commerce solutions and related services.
- B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated strength in technical and/or sales skills, including the ability to solicit business requirements, develop a technical sales strategy, configure and successfully demonstrate the solutions that address these requirements, and provide business value.
- Familiarity with RFP processes and the ability to collaborate on effective and competitive responses.
- A detail-oriented nature with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple prospects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of related applications, relational databases, and web technologies.
- Solid verbal, written, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience as a strong communicator, influencer, and problem solver – with a calm demeanor under pressure and the ability to establish rapport and trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable with ambiguity.
- An ability to learn and pivot quickly.
Compensation:
- $125 – 200k in total compensation (base + variable)
Red Van is a distributed company, so your geographic location within the USA is not critical: your office is your choice. Occasional travel availability to client locations may be necessary, so reasonable proximity to an airport with good commercial service is required. Most of our crew travels rarely, at most a few days per quarter, but this role may require travel more often.
